Tendring Darts Academy is a PDPA-approved youth development programme based at Harwich & Dovercourt Cricket Club.
Our mission is simple: to give young players a fun, safe, and structured place to learn and enjoy the sport of darts.
Whether your child is picking up a dart for the first time or already has competitive experience, our academy provides the coaching, support, and progression pathway they need to grow in skill, confidence, and sportsmanship.

The academy follows our unique “Single to 180 Programme”, a progressive pathway that allows children to learn at their own pace and earn certificates as they advance through the levels.

Steven Chandler — PDPA Qualified Coach
With a passion for the game that began at age eight, Steven has decades of playing experience and a natural talent for youth coaching.
Having achieved early competitive success and later returning to the sport with renewed focus, Steven now dedicates himself to helping young players develop both on and off the oche.
As a fully qualified PDPA Coach with an enhanced DBS check, Steven ensures all coaching is delivered safely, professionally, and with genuine care for each child's progress.
His commitment:
“I give 100% to every child who joins our academy. My goal is to help them improve, grow in confidence, and carry themselves with pride as part of the Tendring Darts Academy family.”

Our structured development system guides players through:
Core fundamentals of grip, stance & release
Accuracy and consistency training
Scoring and finishing practice
Mental approach and matchplay confidence
Sportsmanship and respect
Earning certificates as they progress through each level
Each child learns at a pace that suits them, supported every step of the way.

Location:
Harwich & Dovercourt Cricket Club
(Training area inside the venue)
Clacton sports bar (Fortnightly on Saturday mornings)
Pricing:
£5 per child per session
£40 one-off joining fee (includes the official Tendring Darts Academy shirt)
All equipment is provided if needed, but children are welcome to bring their own.
